Terms
The service
Scout, at scout.place, lets you name a neighborhood and a max price. Scout checks that place and writes a short brief when a price, taxes, or rules or regulation changes. The product is in early beta. A free account includes a limited number of briefs. Paid plans add standing watches. The current prices are on the pricing page.
Not advice
A brief is a note to help you decide what to look at next. It is not legal advice, tax advice, a valuation, or an offer to buy or sell property. Sources can be incomplete, late, or wrong. Scout does not promise that a listing, a price, or a rule is complete. You decide what to do with the note.
Your account
You need an email and a password. You are responsible for activity on your account. Scout is for people who can enter a contract where they live. It is not for children.
Plans and payment
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe is the merchant of record: it sells the plan, collects the card, and handles sales tax and VAT. Scout does not store the card number. Stripe's and Link's terms also apply to the payment, and receipts come from Link (link.com). If you cancel, the plan stays in place until the end of the period you already paid for, then it stops.
If you live in the EU or EEA, you can withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. That period runs from the day the contract is agreed. Write to hello@scout.place or cancel from the billing portal in Settings. Scout does not ask you to give up this right before the plan starts. A watch may already have run during those 14 days.
What you send us
You can save a place, a budget, and instructions. You keep the right to that text. You let Scout use it to run the watch and write the brief, including sending the place and the instructions to the research and model services that draft the note. Do not put someone else's secrets, or anything you would not send to a research service, into a watch.
The beta
Scout can change, pause, or remove parts of the product while it is in early beta. If a paid plan is withdrawn, you keep access through the period you already paid for, or you get a refund of the unused part of that period.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Scout is not liable for a decision you make from a brief, or for a loss that comes from a public source being wrong. Nothing here removes a right a consumer cannot waive. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, the mandatory rules of your country still apply.
The law that applies
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live. For anything else, these terms are read under Swedish law. Questions go to hello@scout.place.
